2022 Mayer Volcanic Chardonnay Upper Yarra Valley – Timo Mayer is a small farm producing hand crafted, single vineyard wines. They believe that wines are made in the vineyard and therefore try to interfere as little as possible in the natural winemaking process. All of their wines are unfined and unfiltered to show the true expression of the land. Their aim is to make wines with a point of difference and to really showcase region and varietal to their best ability.
Like your big, rich, traditional style Chardonnays? Well this won’t be the wine for you. What we have here is a more leaner style of Chardonnay with high energy and a killer acid backbone. Expect notes of stonefruits, citrus, minerality and cooling acidity. First quenching and refreshing. Very Chablis-esque.
