2022 Phase Three Wines Dero Shiraz Barossa Valley – Ben and Sabina Kelley have a combined 60 years of experience in the Food and Wine industry. As their small family grew they decided to leave the hustle and bustle of NSW and move to the Barossa Valley. Their aim is to produce wines they enjoy to drink. Their wines are made by them on their farm with very little intervention – Traditional Barossa wines with above all an element of vitality and freshness.
The following vineyards make an appearance in the 2022 release;
Hoffmann DV Mickan Block Shiraz – Adrian Hoffmann
Wilton Hill Old Vine Shiraz Eden Valley – Joel Mattschoss
Marsen Springs Eden Valley Pinot Noir – Tony Walker
BVD Road Block Shiraz – Ebenezer
The Starship Block Shiraz – Flaxman Valley
A Barossa/Eden Valley blend of Shiraz and a touch of Pinot Noir. Mixed red berry fruits, earthiness complexity, ripe dark fruits adds to the flavour and a good amount of spice. The wine is a bit more serious this year with a nebbiolo-esque tannin structure which spreads its web across the entire mouth. An excellent release which should age gracefully in the cellar for many years.
