2022 Lambert Nebbiolo Yarra Valley – All Lambert wines are handpicked and of single-vineyard origin. They are sublimely perfumed, with moderate alcohols, fresh acidities, powdery tannins, and limited oak influence. Luke’s artisanal methodology includes wild ferments without the aid of temperature control, hand plunging, long macerations, gravity rather than pumping, old, large format oak and no fining or filtration.
Yarra Valley Nebbiolo, handpicked, destemmed, wild yeast fermented and held on skins with frequent plunging and foot stomping. No temperature control. Pressed into Slavonian and French oak Foudre for 18 months prior to bottling without fining or filtration.
This year’s release carries a riper and darker fruit profile than the previous couple of years and while there’s plenty of power and structure, the wine retains its alluring red fruited perfume.
