2022 Dr Edge Chardonnay Tasmania – Dr Edge Tasmania Chardonnay is a blend of Tamar Valley (65%) & Derwent Valley (35%) fruit. Pressed to old oak casks, the juice is fermented naturally, matured for 9 months on lees with some casks containing small amounts of whole Chardonnay fruit clusters. Bottled without fining agents.
The nose is tightly packed with green apple, ripe lemon, nutty and flinty scents, and a backdrop of a yeasty, leesy note that gives warmth to an otherwise crystalline picture. Scintillating and mouthwatering acidity in a medium weight package. This is long and riveting, with salinity and moreish pucker at the end, drawing you in for more.
