2021 Mulline Nouveau Pinot Noir Geelong – Ben Mullen is a qualified winemaker and wine drinker. Ben has had a whirlwind career which has seen him making wine all over the globe. Of note, Ben has worked at Torbreck, Yarra Yering, Oakridge, Domaine Dujac, Craggy Range and, most recently, as winemaker at Clyde Park. With this stellar background, it was a matter of time before Ben Mullen decided to spread his wings and make wine under his own label.
100% from the Sutherlands Creek sub region in Moorabool Valley North West of Geelong. 80% Able clone which is 100% destemmed and as Ben describes offers a freshness/juiciness and distinct raspberry tones to the wine. The remaining 20% component is from MV6 clone which is 20% whole-bunch providing darker/purple fruits, berry and spice notes. A little more tannin and flesh this year than previous.
