2021 Moorooduc Estate Robinson Vineyard Pinot Noir Mornington peninsula – This wine is made from specially selected fruit from Hugh and Isabelle Robinson’s vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road. Their single vineyard estate wines celebrate the individual character of certain special sites around the Moorooduc area.
Bright ruby garnet with a lifted nose divulging pure red cherry and a touch of raspberry and rhubarb, with perfumed notes of sandalwood and violets. On the palate, the wine is tighter and more savoury than on the nose, with damask rose, red cherry and quite a lot of earthy savoury structure. Long and tight – a wine that will reward 5 to 8 years in the cellar, or a vigorous decant at the very least.
