2020 Seville Estate Pinot Noir Yarra Valley – Seville Estate’s Philosophy is to capture the fruit expression of their unique vineyard, in wine styles that show cool climate complexity and finesse.
The Estate range is made entirely from their own vineyards. The intention is to show the true expression of the site, using a combination of old vines planted in 1972 and their younger vines planted in 1996. All fruits are handpicked and sorted in the vineyard to preserve the best fruit quality.
Beautifully perfumed and lifted showing red berry fruits, spice and hint of sweet nutty oak. The wine is complex showing cherry/ strawberry fruits matched with more earthy characters of rhubarb and nutmeg. Whole bunch fermentation adds lift, savouriness and texture to the wine. The tannins are fine and supple while the acidity adds freshness and length to the finish.
A great Pinot Noir that (while young) deserves a decanter before showing its true potential.
