2019 Tyrrell’s Stevens Single Vineyard Shiraz Hunter Valley – Stevens Shiraz is now sourced from the Stevens-family-owned Glen Oak vineyard. Glen Oak is located on Marrowbone Road, Pokolbin and is also the source vineyard for Stevens Semillon; the two wines bearing the Stevens family name are now sourced from their own family vineyard. The Tyrrell family has leased the Shiraz blocks on Glen Oak since 2015 and only the best parcels were selected for this wine.
A fine debut for the new Stevens Shiraz from a vintage that has produced some fantastic red wines. It is medium bodied, with the bright fruit character that is the hallmark of the wine. Soft, savoury tannin and bright acidity help give the wine length, with the oak only adding structure, not flavour.
