2017 Glaetzer-Dixon La Judith Shiraz Tasmania – Winemaker Nick Glaetzer has transformed an old ice factory on the edge of Hobart’s CBD into Tasmania’s first urban winery and tasting room. A fifth generation vigneron hailing from the Barossa Valley, Nick moved to Tasmania in 2005. With Glaetzer-Dixon he has won the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy and Gourmet Traveller’s Young Winemaker of the Year award.
Named after Nick Glaetzer’s mother Judith. Single vineyard Shiraz from Coal Valley in Tasmania. Aged in 100% new French oak. Seriously low yields, small berries, tiny bunches – makes for super concentration of both dark fruits and plush tannin.
