2021 Pooley Cooinda Vale Chardonnay 375ml Tasmania – Established by the late Denis and Margaret Pooley on the banks of the Coal River in 1985. Pooley Wines is Tasmania’s first third generation family wine company. Certified environmentally sustainable viticulture, minimal intervention wine-making practices and a commitment to expressive Tasmania wine is at the core of their philosophy.
9 months maturation in 40% new French oak barriques (80% Marcel Cadet and 20% St Martin) with minimal lees stirring.
An intricately perfumed and poised wine with lovely tension, persistent length, and seamless balance. Incredibly generous on the nose with notes of wet stone, flint, white florals, and toasted almond with marzipan, mineral, peach, and oyster shell following through on the palate.
This wine displays the character and complexity of Cooinda Vale and has the potential for a long and rewarding cellar life.
