Just as a riposte is delivered with style and elegance in Fencing, so is this premium wine range(*2). The family-owned winery, rated five (red) stars by James Halliday is led by revered winemaker, Tim Knappstein(*1,2). It is no wonder Tim is a pioneer in the field and a highly respected local. He has been living and breathing wine since he was a child growing up in the wine industry in the Clare Valley(*2).

A passion for winemaking, family and respect for the land seems to ooze out of Tim’s pores and are integrated into the brand and all Riposte wines. While the wines produced by Riposte are highly technical, they are not boring by any means.

The Dagger Pinot Noir, The Foil Sauvignon Blanc & The Stiletto Pinot Gris

The hands-on philosophy of the winemaking team at Riposte sees to it that they are a part of every part of the process, from vineyard to bottle. This ensures they create high-quality wines with vibrancy, ripeness, and freshness(*1).

The Foil – 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Tasting Notes

Brilliant yields from high-altitude vineyards in this cool-climate region led to a vintage of extraordinary quality(*4).

Aroma: Passionfruit and florals(*1).
Palate: Crisp acidity and fruits combine creating excellent depth and clarity(*1,4).
Finish: Fine and balanced(*1,4).

The Stiletto – 2022 Pinot Gris Tasting Notes

Aroma: Vibrant and lifted with notes of freshly cut pears and apples(*1,5).
Palate: Mouth-filling with great concentration(*1,5). This was thanks to long ripening (without becoming too acidic)(*5).
Finish: Superb length(*1). A beautiful drop that will further develop over the coming couple of years(*5).

The Dagger – 2022 Pinot Noir Tasting Notes

Being an early drinking style of wine, this Pinot Noir is naturally a desirable choice if you plan to enjoy it sooner rather than later. In saying this, they can cellar for three to five years from their ‘born’ date(*6).

Aroma: A strike of a superabundance of sharp red berries and floral notes(*7). The nose is fresh and complex(*7).
Palate: A parry between crunchy red berry fruits, a little bit of spice and pepper, and bright acidity and fine-grained tannins(*1,7).
Finish: A delicate, soft finish to a rich and vibrant wine(*1,7).
