2023 Corryton Burge Grenache Barossa – A family winery rooted in the history of Barossa Valley, Australia. Their legacy stretches back six generations to the early settlers of the region, John and Eliza Burge, who arrived from England in 1855. Since then, their family has dedicated itself to crafting exceptional wines that have become synonymous with excellence in the Australian wine industry.
Sourced from a mix of family-owned and grower vineyards throughout central and southern Barossa. Their family-owned vineyards are predominantly bush vine grown, including some of the oldest vines in the Barossa. Matured in 2,500-litre oak for slow and gentle ageing over 8 months.
Vibrant and youthful bright red/purple in colour. The aromas are of blackberries and blueberries a little reminiscent of a freshly baked blueberry muffin. Hints of subtle vanilla oak in the background add another layer of complexity to a youthful fruit-driven aroma and beyond that is chocolate-coated raspberry licorice and a hint of cinnamon and violets. The fruit is powerful, and the tannins are youthful but both are balanced as the flavours and tannins linger without drying on the finish.
Drink now and over the next 5 years. Try pairing with your next lamb and rosemary roast.
