2023 Airlie Bank Gris On Skins Yarra Valley – The Airlie Bank range of wines comes from the awesome guys over at Punt Road Wines. They have planted several varieties over the past 27 years to best suit their site, including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These varieties shine in different ways across three distinctive expressions – Airlie Bank, Punt Road and their limited release ‘Block Series’ wines.
Let’s start with the COLOUR! Vibrant peach and copper tones that work so well with the new branding. Super pretty berries and vanilla on the nose, the palate shows sweet musk and pear, rounded out with savoury grippiness and a hint of funk (that’s the skin fermentation at play). Its crisp acidity makes it a great match for food.
