2022 Sidewood Estate Pinot Gris Adelaide Hills – Sidewood Estate is a family-owned winery producing elegant, award-winning, cool climate wines in the Adelaide Hills. Sidewood was founded in 2004 with a vision to create beautifully balanced, elegant wines with a sense of place. Wines that are delicious on the palate and also reflect the soil, the climate and lifestyle of the Adelaide Hills.
Handmade in the traditional Alsatian style, the fruit was 100% handpicked over a two-week period from selected rows at our Oakbank vineyard. The perfectly ripened grapes were chilled prior to being 90% whole-bunch pressed, free run juice was then barrel fermented and matured for 5 months using wild yeast in 100% larger format French oak.
Aromas of tangelo, Meyer lemon rind and talc lead to a balanced, textural wine, displaying flavours of Nashi pear, lime and accented by notes of orange blossom and long, mineral-led finish.
A wine suited to sear scallops, rabbit terrine and Thai salads.
