2021 Seppeltsfield Touriga Barossa Valley – The Seppeltsfield ‘Village’ range celebrates the revitalisation of the Seppeltsfield estate as a vibrant community of artisans – a modern day village – and is the foundation of their portfolio. The wine expressions within include classic Barossa varieties, to more emerging and exotic offerings. Their winemakers place particular specialisation in the reimagining of traditional ‘fortified’ red varieties – many central to the Barossa’s early emergence as grape growing region – now crafted into bright, modern wines of purity and elegance.
Touriga Nacional (abbreviated to Touriga) is a thick-skinned, intensely coloured grape. In Barossa Valley wineries, its history has largely been linked with fortified winemaking, however with careful canopy management and selective harvesting, Touriga’s vibrant fragrance and colour can be equally suited to elegant red wine expressions.
The Seppeltsfield Barossa Touriga wine is crafted in a ‘joven’ style – a red wine released young and without any oak maturation at our Barossa winery. The palate of this Barossa wine has opulent fleshy red berry richness of strawberry and raspberry, hint of red liquorice, complemented with voluptuous velvety tannins.
Enjoy now and over the next 5 years. Try matching with duck a l’Orange, aromatic Thai, barbecued beef and vegetable skewers.
