2022 Longhop Riesling Adelaide Hills – Sourcing precious old vine survival plantings of the 1950s, and coupled with their non-interventional approach to winemaking, Longhop Wines found it’s provenance in handcrafting the lush, generous and full flavours of yesteryear. They create expressive wines showcasing, fruit, season and birth place.
The Longhop Riesling is sourced from a single site in the small hamlet village of Forreston situated in the beautiful panoramic Adelaide Hills. Hand picked, partial whole bunch pressed. Natural cold settling before racking with suspended solids remaining for ferment at low temperature for several weeks. Continuing with lees aging before racking and natural cold settling prior to bottling.
This riesling exhibits perfumed florals, spicy aromas with intense lemon, lime and apple with lovely texture and length. A terrific all-rounder suited to an array of both Asian & Mediterranean inspired seafood and white meat dishes.
