2021 Agricola Ebenezer Shiraz Barossa Valley – The Powell family have been making award winning wines in the Barossa for decades. Now son Callum has released his on Barossa label. These wines are totally different to your usual big, bold reds of the Barrosa – lower alcohol, lo-fi, pure and elegant.
The first thing you notice is the alcohol level of 13.9%. But don’t fear there is still plenty of flavour and character to be had. Definitely more of a Syrah style. Fresh, fresh, fresh! Red berries, white pepper, herbs, liquorice and cooling acidity. Tannins are extremely fine. That acid keeps coming back and building tension. Elegance in a bottle.
