2022 Tyrrell’s Chardonnay 375ml Hunter Valley – This Hunter Valley Chardonnay is sourced from a mixture of sites across the Pokolbin area. All of these sites have slightly different micro climates and each component brings its unique personality to the blend.
The 2022 vintage in the Hunter Valley was another high quality year across all varieties and is a stellar follow up to 2018. Continued dry conditions meant cropping levels were slightly lower than normal however all of the fruit was in perfect condition.
The grapes were both hand and machine picked before gentle pressing and fermentation. The wine was matured in new and older French oak barriques, and spent all of this time on yeast lees to give the palate added complexity and texture.
Textbook modern, medium bodied Hunter Valley Chardonnay that can be enjoyed with a variety of cuisines. The nose shows a great mixture of citrus, white stone fruit, some oak spice as well as just a hint of solids complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with great fruit intensity and texture through the mid-palate, with soft acid on the finish.
