2019 Saint & Scholar Pinot Gris Adelaide Hills – Pinot Gris is a frightening grape. It’s meant to be white, but is black. It’s meant to be delicate and easing drinking but places many barriers in the way of that. It’s a challenge to the winemaker, but its great feature is that it is fun to grow.
Pinot Gris grape has a grey skin. Gentle winemaking usually leaves a little of this in the wine giving it a blush colour.
The yeast leaves the aromas of Turkish delight and roses. The grape offers pear and nectarine.
By leaving the wine cloudy as both a juice and a wine, it helps make it soft and gives taste of pears and lychees.
