2019 Glaetzer-Dixon Nouveau Pinot Noir Tasmania – Winemaker Nick Glaetzer has transformed an old ice factory on the edge of Hobart’s CBD into Tasmania’s first urban winery and tasting room. A fifth generation vigneron hailing from the Barossa Valley, Nick moved to Tasmania in 2005. With Glaetzer-Dixon he has won the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy and Gourmet Traveller’s Young Winemaker of the Year award.
This Pinot Noir Nouveau is the stepping stone into Nick’s wide range of wines, offering the best value for money buy for a Tassie Pinot.
The brilliant 2019 harvest was crafted from two vineyards in Tasmania’s Tamar and Derwent valleys. Part of the blend underwent maceration carbonique (true whole bunch ferment).
Maraschino cherries and plums. Bright, juicy red fruit, hint of mixed spice. The Nouveau pinot is made in the style of Beaujolais Nouveau – fresh and luscious, ready to drink now.
Enjoy in its youth for the next 5 years.
