2019 Laughing Jack Greenock Shiraz Barossa Valley – The Greenock Shiraz was sourced from three family vineyards grown on the Kalleske’s Greenock property, affectionately known as East Block, Hill Block and Home Block. This hard working family have been toiling this soil for 6 generations, since 1855.
A perfumed array of ripe dark plum, blackberry and mulberry dominate the nose. The growing season was dry and hot, this will influence black pepper nuances along with liquorice and spice. A low yielding hot vintage giving plenty of depth, power and concentration. The balance is superb with mild acidity and ripe tannins giving way to drinkability now but will certainly benefit from a few years in the cellar.
