2021 Bream Creek Reserve Pinot Noir Tasmania

From: $65.00

2021 Bream Creek Reserve Pinot Noir Tasmania – Bream Creek Vineyard is one of the pioneers of the modern Tasmanian wine industry. Their 7.5ha vineyard at Marion Bay in the south-east of Tasmania was originally planted in 1974, making it one of the oldest commercial vineyards on the island. Fred Peacock purchased the vineyard in 1990 and expanded the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plantings, as well as introducing Sauvignon Blanc. Fred also planted what was arguably the first commercial planting of the rare German grape variety Schönburger in the southern hemisphere. Since 1990 their premium cool climate wine has been rewarded with 56 trophies and more than 1,000 show medals.

The Reserve wines are representative of Bream Creek’s desire to produce world class wines in Tasmania. They taste every barrel and only the barrels that exceed their own high expectations are bottled seperately under the “Reserve” label – meaning that in some years no Reserve will be produced.

This is a complex and powerful wine, reflective of its Reserve status. On opening the nose is aromatic, with lifted raspberry, red cherry, red liquorice and thyme aromas. The palate reflects the cooler vintage, intense red berry and red cherry flavours matched by bright acidity. With excellent length and tannin structure, this limited release wine can be enjoyed now, yet will also reward careful cellaring.

Match with rich game meat dishes such as duck or venison, or even a Wagyu fillet.
