2017 JC’s Own Freestyle Marsanne Barossa Valley – Marsanne from the heavy red clay soils of the Western Ridge is harvested at night to ensure the grapes are received at a low temperature. A short period of skin contact is undertaken to extract some richness and body and gives a deep golden baseline from day one. Due to the cylindrical shape of the wood, the lees are rolled onto itself by the natural convection currents, adding a sense of texture and weight. The wine is left to “Freestyle” on lees for a year, before a small ammount of sulphur is added and eventually hits the bottle without fining or filtering. Only 510 bottles produced, extremely limited.
