2010 Stefano Lubiana Grande Vintage Tasmania – Stefano Lubiana Wines exude Tasmania in its purest form – from its soil to your family table. Their environmentally holistic practices and care for their low-cropping Derwent River estate follows through to the winery with minimal intervention meeting modern techniques. The resulting wines are world class quality, to be enjoyed with hearty food and good company.
100% Estate grown, single vineyard, Derwent Valley, blend of 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and a mMx of terroirs, grey gravelly loams over clay and red loam over gravel. Nine years were spent on lees until disgorging and extra time under cork has allowed gentle development.
In their vineyard they place an emphasis on minimal intervention and low yields. A similar approach is taken in the winery, where they ferment with natural yeasts and bottle with low dosage in order to exalt the qualities of their vineyard site. Their Grande Vintage is an assemblage of the best parcels of fruits that provide freshness, elegance, balance and intensity.
If you are after loads of flavour and x-factor then this is the bubbles for you. Such power, yet still controlled. Notes of stonefruits, floral, biscuit, and a touch of creaminess. Excellent texture and length. Sensational.
The 2010 Grande Vintage is the 11th release of this exceptional wine. And only ever released when the vintage is of a high enough quality.
