The region is also well known for farming diversity, with copious plantings of apricot, cherry and olive trees, lavender and wheat(*4). The high altitude of the neighbouring Mount Ventoux keeps the vines cool and increases the ripening period. While nearby regions carefully navigate rises in temperature, the cool whistle of the snowy top of Ventoux Mountain protects vineyards on its slope and below(*4).
