Australian Sparkling Shiraz

This amazing wine style unites the very best of both worlds – Shiraz and Champagne. Full-flavoured red berries and spice from Shiraz merge seamlessly with Champagne’s delicate bubbles and drying finish.

Australia has over 100 years of experience with this varietal – with most made in South Australia. Well-known regions include(*1):

• Barossa Valley.
• McLaren Vale.
• Central Victoria.
• The Great Western region in Western Australia.

Food Pairings

Sparkling Shiraz has become a Christmas tradition. From Christmas morning with bacon and eggs to lunch and dinner with glazed ham or roast turkey(*1). Shiraz is brilliant for food pairings because it is so versatile. Serve chilled (like Champagne) or a touch warmer(*1).

2019 Majella Sparkling Shiraz, Coonawarra

This full-flavoured, ruby-tinted vintage is not as jammy as Bleasdale’s (or Mollydooker’s) Sparkling Shiraz(*1). As a point of difference, a tiny amount of vintage port is added as the final touch(*4).

Aroma: Freshly picked raspberry, plum and blackberry(*4).
Palate: Quite dry and particularly complex in the middle palate with layers of dark fruits and spices(*1,4,5).

Majella Wines(*5) have sold out of this vintage at the winery! Be sure to get your bottle before we run out too!
